LOS ANGELES: The music world’s hottest stars strutted their best stuff down the Grammys red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday, and it was no surprise that one Arab designer stole the show with his spectacular couture gowns. Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad got plenty of attention as a number of celebrities walked the red carpet decked up in his stunning creations. One of the most talked about fashion choices of the evening was Celine Dion’s emerald green gown. Dion slayed the red carpet in her Zuhair Murad Spring 2017 Haute Couture gown with a plunging neckline, which she paired with Gucci shoes and Dvani jewels. Fellow country crooner Faith Hill also bared quite a bit in Murad’s red keyhole gown.
However, the American singer created some buzz on social media after stumbling over the Lebanese designer’s name when Ryan Seacrest asked Hill who designed her dress. Arabs on social media were not amused, with one writing: “Faith Hill couldn’t remember how to pronounce her dress designer’s name ... Zuhair Murad, aka world famous designer... also not hard to say.”
Australian model Nicole Trunfio wore a Zuhair Murad Fall 2016 Couture gown. The 30-year-old looked ravishing in the burgundy lace creation, with a matching satin belt and oversize gold belt buckle. Pop diva Katy Perry wore a Zuhair Murad Fall 2016 black peplum jumpsuit to the Universal Music Group’s Grammys after-party. Earlier in the evening she sparkled in a sequin top and feather skirt by Tom Ford.  Reality TV star Kris Jenner wore a black mini dress designed by Murad. The star also took to Instagram to show off her outfit.
