Aoun told the delegation that Lebanon wasn't divided into factions and there was no discrimination between the Lebanese. He vowed to fully implement his presidential oath, saying "I wrote it and I abide by implementing all of it." Aoun called on the residents of remote areas of Lebanon not to be displaced and to increase their attachment to the land. "Two sectors that have been neglected in the past few years [are] the agriculture and industry [sectors]. I salute the residents of Akkar and the north. You are in the heart of Lebanon and not on its edges.” Aoun also met with Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh, who stressed that the financial situation in Lebanon was stable. The president held separate talks later in the day with newly appointed chief of the Central Inspection Department Judge George Attieh and Internal Security Forces chief Maj. Gen. Imad Othman.
