BEIRUT: None of the recent battles between Hezbollah and Syrian jihadis have taken place on Lebanese territory, Army Commander Gen. Jean Kahwagi told a delegation of Future bloc lawmakers Wednesday.

A report published by Al-Mustaqbal Thursday, quoted sources from the Future bloc delegation as saying that the Army commander confirmed during a meeting in Yarze that “there are no battles on the outskirts of Arsal.”

“Battles are taking place on the Syrian side of the outskirts,” he added, according to the report.

Kahwagi noted that the Army was taking exceptional measures to prevent the infiltration of terrorists into Lebanese territory.
