History of the Miss Lebanon Pageant

The Miss Lebanon Pageant is currently organised by the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism. The pageant has been cancelled a few times due civil wars, conflicts with Israel and lack of protection for the delegates. Miss Lebanon Organization awards its winner prizes totalling over $400.000.

At the 2014 Miss Universe Pageant Saly Greige has come under fire in her country for posing with Miss Israel, Doron Matalon, in a photo during preparations for the international pageant in Miami. Lebanon and Israel have technically been at war since 2006. Lebanese citizens can be imprisoned for contact with Israelis, and products from the country are banned in Lebanon.
