BEIRUT:
Police announced Tuesday the arrest of a woman in a southern Beirut
suburb for forcing her two daughters, including a minor, into
prostitution. A local NGO had told the police that a 53-year-old
Lebanese woman identified by her initials A.Gh. in Burj al-Barajneh was
pushing her daughters to seduce men into sexual acts in return for
money.
Her daughters, aged 31 and 17, are of Syrian nationality and were identified as N.A. and D.A. The
women confirmed the allegations and said they were lured into Lebanon,
where their mother took them to night clubs where prostitution occurs,
the report added.
The police also obtained voice recordings of conversations between the mother and her daughters supporting the allegations. The sisters are currently under the supervision of an NGO.
