Passports are being replaced by biometrics, physical characteristics unique to every person, that will help an increasing number of passengers get to their planes more quickly. The program, which the Transportation Security Administration says is in use at 30 airports in the U.S., will be expanded to 400 airports in the coming years. Delta Airlines is using the technology in a pilot program at five airports, including New York’s LaGuardia and Los Angeles International.
