BEIRUT: Future Movement MP Mohammad Kabbara launched a scathing criticism of Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk Wednesday for measures taken against Tripoli inmates detained in Roumieh Prsion.
“It appears as though the interior minister is reading too many police novels,” the Tripoli MP said in a statement. “This why he is exercising a concept of power, that is far from logic and reason, on his own people.”
Basing his claims on reports narrated by the families of the inmates, Kabbara said that the humiliation suffered by Roumieh prisoners has become worse than that in Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison or even Guantanamo bay.
