Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri praised the decision of the emergency meeting of the Arab Foreign ministers, which translated the unified stance of the Arabs in the face of the blatant Iranian interference in their internal affairs, and their solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia concerning the attack on its diplomatic mission in Iran.

Premier Hariri expressed his regret for the abstention of Lebanon’s foreign minister (Gebran Bassil) from voting on this resolution. This abstention does not reflect the opinion of the majority of the Lebanese, who are suffering from the Iranian interference in their internal affairs, and who have feelings of love and solidarity towards the leadership and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, due to its white hands and its known history in supporting Lebanon in times of crises and in the reconstruction and development processes after each crisis and Israeli aggression.

Using the mention of Hezbollah’s interference in Bahrain in the final statement of the foreign ministers as a pretext, does not justify evading the Arab consensus about the essential issue of the Iranian interference in the Arab internal affairs and does not conform to the concept of giving priority to the Lebanese national interest over the Arab consensus.

We are simply facing a stance that only aims at pleasing Iran and offending the history of Lebanon with its Arab brothers. This is unacceptable and does not express the position of the Lebanese state.
