THE INTERNET Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has announced that former IBM executive Fadi Chehadé will become its next CEO.
The regulator said that Chehadé will take on his role by 1 October, replacing interim CEO and COO Akram Atallah, and will oversee the ongoing rollout of generic top-level domains (gTLDs).
A graduate of Stanford University, Chehadé served as head of IBM’s Middle East and North Africa Global Technology Services business. He was also the founder of e-commerce firm Rosettanet and served as the CEO of educational software firm Vocado. [Link]
