Lebanese should be grateful for controlled security: Berri

The Daily Star BEIRUT: Speaker Nabih Berri has said that the Lebanese should be grateful for the stable security situation in the country. Berri
spoke highly of the efforts exerted by the Lebanese Army and security
forces, as they “managed to spare Lebanon the harm of terror and the
tragedies caused by it.” The speaker was quoted as saying in remarks published in Al-Joumhouria newspaper Monday that the “security situation is good.”

“The Lebanese should be grateful for the blessing of security they are enjoying,” Berri added. The army and security agencies have been cracking down on dormant extremist cell across the country The
military recently announced the arrest of an 11-member extremist cell
planning to conduct a mass attack in Lebanon over the holidays.
