BEIRUT: Inspection conducted by Lebanon’s National Social Security Fund in 2013 indicated that 3,311 employees eligible for social security insurance were not disclosed by their employers and that 414 files belonged to fictitious employees, stripping the fund of LL 57 billion ($37 million).
In a statement released Tuesday, head of the NSSF Mohammad Karaki said that among the 3,311 undeclared employees, 2,701 were Lebanese and 610 were foreigners.
