After coming back from his visit to France, Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi initiated on Friday the second round of discussions between rival Maronite leaders and lawmakers in Bkerke.

The top four Maronite leaders Phalange party chief Amin Gemayel, Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun, Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea and the head of the Marada movement Suleiman Franjieh along with MPs from the March 8 and March 14 forces will attend the meeting and make suggestions for a new electoral law that Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi hoped would receive consensus.

March 14 Batroun MP Butros Harb, who said he would attend the meeting, noted there are “different opinions” over an election law. He told the Daily Star "I prefer a one-man, one-vote formula in a small electoral district”.
