Beirut- Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced Tuesday
that an operation to smuggle 3.5 million Captagon pills has been foiled. The thwarted drug sneak in was completed under security collaboration among Lebanese and Saudi authorities.

Lebanon’s Central Anti-Drug Office of the Judicial Police thwarted
the operation, working in cooperation with Saudi authorities, the ISF
said in a statement. The ISF also revealed that a number of the drug ring’s members were arrested.

A number of the smugglers have been arrested, according to the ISF,
and the search for those who remain at large is ongoing. Captagon is an
outlawed amphetamine compound and is popular with partygoers and
front-line militia fighters. The ISF regularly seizes large quantities
of the drug.
